Turves Barn, Peterborough
Conversion

Counter & King obtained planning permission to convert this remote and dilapidated brick barn on the Cambridgeshire Fenns to residential use.

The scheme involves the demolition and rebuilding of single-storey additions and the complete replacement of the roof and internal floor structures. Using stressed-skin technology combined with composite timber joists and structural purlins has allowed our client to create an uncompromisingly modern interior. Due for completion in 2004 this project involved the main structural works being carried out by a local building contractor. The final phase will be completed on a selfbuild/self managed basis.
