Buckfield, Radlett
Extension and Alterations

In 2012 Counter and King obtained planning consent to extend This locally listed property in the green belt on the outskirts or Radlett. The project was completed in the summer of 2013. The alterations involve two double storey rear extensions to an 1850s and 1930s wing. These two extensions are visually separated by two linear rooflights that together create a light filled primary axis. A glazed walkway bridges this double height slot. A modern aesthetic of dark grey aluminium is fused with traditional forms to create a series of intimate cellular spaces that open out into the axis and the modern open plan garden room.
